This week’s Epic Games free game of the week is Halcyon 6 Starbase Commander. Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander is an indie strategy video game and turn-based tactical RPG hybrid. The game originally came out in 2016 and was developed and published by Massive Damage. Halcyon 6 retails at $14.99 usually so you’re getting a good deal this week.
The graphics of the game are very indie and unique but still fun. Halcyon 6 Starbase Commander is truly a mix of a ton of genres. A retro space strategy RPG with base building, deep tactical combat, crew management and emergent storytelling. Even with so much going on the game still manages to feel coherent. With so much to offer I feel that plenty of people could find enjoyment out of the game. We also are getting the “light speed” edition which happens to be a massively enhanced version of the Award Winning indie strategy RPG, Halcyon 6.
If you can get past the very indie graphics this game can be a lot of fun.
