With the holidays quickly coming up and our old “normal” world seeming to only be getting further away we thought we’d share some fun games to play with family.
Super Mario Party
A classic series that even I played with my family. Mario Party has been around forever and has always offered a fun board game like game with diverse and interesting minigames to play along the way. A simple roll of the dice and deciding which direction to move will get you moving in the right direction. The easy to follow games and general directions allow for everyone in the family to have fun and enjoy themselves.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Another Mario game, you shouldn’t be surprised. Mario Kart is another game that has been around forever and while the skill level can vary a decent amount the simple premise allows for fun for everyone. The newest Mario Kart game brings new characters, cars, and maps. So even if you played in the past you’ll have new things to enjoy with others.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
With New Horizons we finally got multiplayer Animal Crossing! Because of this, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is undoubtedly one of the most wholesome games to play with family. Playing the game again is pretty easy and can be done by anyone of any age and or experience level.
Overcooked 2
Truly any Overcooked game will do, but 2 is probably your best bet. With being able to play with up to 4 people the whole family can try and run a kitchen together. While it’s no cakewalk it is a hectic and fun game to play. Try not to run into each other too much!
Minecraft
By now most people know of Minecraft, Minecraft is a wonderfully simple game. The basicness of it all allows for such creativity and exploration. There is an endless amount of things to do from making a theme park to making the north pole. With so many possibilities you can spend plenty of time with your family making all your creations.
Rocket League
Now let’s be honest there are huge skill gaps in this game, but even with that, the game is so enjoyable that everyone can still have a good time. Rocket League is essentially soccer with cars. Now I know soccer may not be your favorite sport but add in the flips and tricks you can do in the air with your car and you have an extremely fun game to play with family.
With Rocket League also going free to play there isn’t much stopping at least giving it a go. They also have a few other game modes as well. All are fun in their own way and give you a decent variety to choose from. Basketball and hockey are some modes just to name a few.
