League of Legends Seraphine Guide

The newest champion to join summoners rift is Seraphine the starry-eyed songstress. With plenty of utility, Seraphine can be both played in the mid lane as an ap carry or as a support. The question then becomes which lane is she better in. Well, we are going to take a look at her whole kit and our opinion on where she should be played in our League of Legends Seraphine Guide!

Passive: Stage Presence

Every third basic ability Seraphine casts will echo, automatically casting a second time. Additionally, whenever she casts an ability nearby an ally, she will create a Note. Each Note gives her basic attacks more attack range and deal additional magic damage, consuming the Note.

Her passive is huge for how she is played. You will want to be grouped as you get stacks much faster allowing to use the Note multiple times in a team fight. This not only helps with dps but can help with all of her utility as well.

Q: High Note

Seraphine projects a pure note, dealing magic damage that’s increased by the target’s missing health percentage.

The Q is where Seraphine gets most of her damage. Obviously depending on where she is being played changes the importance of this ability. As a mid lane, your Q will be very important. Whereas playing support will make this your least useful skill.

W: Surround Sound

Seraphine surrounds her nearby allies in a song, granting herself and her allies movement speed and a shield. If Seraphine is already shielded, she can heal her nearby allies, restoring health based on how many allies are near her.

Now the W. Seraphines W is a very interesting ability, not only can it shield but it can also heal when using her passive Note as well. This is why people are comparing Seraphine to Sona and being played as a support by some people. As a mid lane, this ability is still good but falls to the least useful just due to the lack of damage. On the other hand, support Seraphines will almost always use their passive Note with the W providing a ton of utility for the whole team.

E – Beat Drop

Seraphine unleashes a heavy soundwave, dealing magic damage to enemies in a line and slowing them. Enemies that are already slowed are rooted, and already rooted enemies are stunned.

Beat drop brings Seraphine more utility in the form of cc. This works really well when other champions within your team comp already have a cc ability of their own, saving you from having to use the passive Note to get hard cc.

R – Encore

Seraphine takes the stage, projecting a captivating force that charms enemies and deals magic damage. Any champions struck (allies included) become part of the performance, extending the range of the ability and granting allies maximum Notes.

Encore Seraphines R is super impactful if used correctly. Having the chance of a 5 man charm can obviously change a fight within a second and allow for big outplays.

League of Legends Seraphine Guide

While people may disagree as of now I think Seraphine is best played as a support. While win rates do back up this claim that is not the only reason I have this opinion. While building ap mid Seraphine will often look to push and roam, and while there is nothing wrong with this playstyle there are just other champions that do it better. Talon, Twisted Fate, and Galio just to name a few. Yes, she still brings the utility when played mid but that is true regardless of where shes played. On the other hand, her damage numbers just don’t seem to be the best.

Only time with truly tell where she is best suited but until then support Seraphine seems to be the best use of her. The utility and cc make her worth playing no matter where. Paired up with adc’s like Ashe and Jhin can make for super dominant lanes that can not only bully using their lockdown but also stay topped off using the shielding and healing of Seraphines W.

Summon Aery into the Inspiration tree is the most common rune choice I’ve seen. Although I do think it’s worth possibly trying out Glacial Augment to help with the E if there is not much cc on your team. Building into items like Athene’s Unholy Grail and Ardent Censer is your best bet while still being able to build into some ap later into the game.
