GamesCon is a very popular gaming conference that always has some game surprizes up its sleeve. We’re happy and curious to see more about these new titles.
There’s a new RTS, a new open world RPG, an interesting adventure game and of more.
Not only are there plenty of new trailers, there’s also a handful of new exciting playable demos to get our hands on. Let’s dive in to the best new games of GamesCon 2022.
The Great War: Western Front
Although we don’t have the title just yet, we know the minds behind the remastered collection of the original C&C and Red Alert are creating this exciting new RTS.
We can expect this game to have a large scale and a WW1 setting. There are some very unique highlights we want to point out. They have an option for a “dual-role commander” which lets the player pay as a both a field commander and a theatre commander.
Moonbreaker
From the creators of Subnautica comes a strategy game based around a Warhammer approach to combat.
Similar to a real tabletop game, players are able to create custom paint jobs for their figurines.
Better yet, the famous author Brandon Sanderson, creator of Mistborn is helping to create a world rich in lore and an impactful story.
We’re super excited to hear more from the studio about Moonbreaker.
Dead Island 2
You’re probably somewhat fimilar with the medicore original Dead Island, but the sequel to the series is else entirely.
Being rebuilt from the ground up, this rescue project has big ambitions to turn the world of Dead Island into a new franchise with big new highlights.
The new procedural flesh system lets players go after different bodyparts and create their own gory masterpieces of destruction.
One Piece Odyssey
As one of the most popular anime/manga series of all time, this RPG combines the Fire Emblem style damage system with intricite party strategy gameplay, we’re really excited to see One Piece Odyssey turn into something special.
Not just a cash grab, this game has a full 3D world, voice acting, and a high-quality build. Fans and newcomers alike should be excited for this new journey.
Lies of P
Lies of P is one of the most interesting on our list of the best games of GamesCon 2022. A soulslike game from the perspective of Pinoccio sounds as intense as it gets. Yes, you heard that right – Pinnoccio as the protagonist of a soulslike game.
The combat is likely going to be a tad bit fasster than your typical FromSoftware titles, for better or worse. We’re super excited to get our hands on this title.
Gungrave G.O.R.E.
Apart from the other RPGs and strategy games, Gungrave G.O.R.E is a hack-and-slash style shooter that resembles Doom.
This original PlayStation2 title is coming back in a big way. Although we’re not expecting a super intricute plot or intense strategical gunplay, sometimes a game doesn’t need that to be a super fun experience.
Expect big combos, plenty of gore, and intense combat with this adrenaline-fueled fiesta.
