After NRG acquired the LCS slot from CLG it was said no changes would be made to the roster or staff. Well, that wasn’t entirely true, with that being said though let’s jump into the NRG LCS Roster that has been confirmed for the 2023 Summer Split.
While much of the NRG LCS roster is staying the same there have been 2 big changes. I do think it’s important to note that while NRG did make that original statement about no roster changes things change. I do think it is important to express that the sentiment around the move didn’t come from the org itself, but rather from the coaching staff, which did stay the same.
It's finally time to reveal our NRG LCS roster...

As you can see from NRG’s honestly pretty fun and fresh announcement video the two players who will be joining the returning core of the old CLG roster are “FBI” and “IgNar”.
Some are claiming the move seems more lateral than pure improvement but the stats really seem to say otherwise. “FBI” had both a better DMG/M and KDA than “Luger” in the 2023 Spring Split, as well as better kill participation and essentially the same Gold Share.
The debate between “IgNar” and “Poome” is probably closer but it is also pretty hard for a Support player to look good overall when your team only manages to win 3 games. Regardless of the opinions of us and the fans the NRG LCS Roster is locked in as such.
Top: Niship “Dhokla” Doshi
Jungle: Juan “Contracts” Garcia
Mid: Cristian “Palafox” Palafox
Bot: Victor “FBI” Huang
Support: Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun
Hopefully, the boys can put on a great performance in the Summer Split and reward the fans that have stayed by their side for so long. Be sure to check out all of the other confirmed LCS Rosters here. As well as keep up with all the great NRG fun!
