Why is Battlefield 2042 so bad?

Battlefield 2042 was a very sought-after game and many people were hoping for it to be a great shooter like most of the other Battlefield games had been before it.

However, only 3 days out after its November 19, 2021 release the game has already racked up an astounding 32,000 negative reviews. For a game that was on our Best New Games November 2021 list it definitely has come as quite the surprise.

What is causing all these bad reviews? Well, it seems just about everything in the game is broken in some way or another. Bad PC optimization, broken vehicles, poor hitboxes, and a lack of features are some of the biggest complaints thus far. But they don’t even seem to stop there. The Battlefield 2042 bad reviews just seem to keep flowing in.

Obviously, I expect within the next couple of months EA and Dice will work hard to get the game to a playable state. But that brings to question why it was even released at all in its current state.

The most obvious and true answer is money. With Black Friday right around the corner, there are sure to be some deals going around. Not to mention Christmas being just around the corner as well.

I truly have begun to hate the not only “money first” but more accurately “money only” business model gaming studios have been seemingly creeping closer and closer to throughout the years.

I do hope the game becomes a good Battlefield game in the long run but until a lot changes the Battlefield 2042 bad reviews will continue to flow in. Can it reach the very worst-reviewed game on Steam? I guess we will just have to wait and find out.

Also, I highly recommend reading some of the Battlefield 2042 bad reviews just for the fun of it.
