CD Projekt Red just recently revealed a new Cyberpunk 2077 feature that will make streamers’ lives easier upon release.

When Cyberpunk 2077 releases Dec 10th, goodbye real world. I’ll be spending my time in Night City for the forseeable future. Many streamers will be wanting to play this epic new title, but some are worried about copyright and eligiblity to monetize their stream.

Luckily, CD Projekt Red thought about this and is rolling out a new feature to make it easier for streamers to get around this. In the game settigns there will be an option to disable all copyrighted music in the game to avoid any DMCA strikes. Kudos for CD Projekt Red for thinking about streamers and taking care of this. There’s a reason they many gamer’s favorite developers.

Hopefully, this trend continues in the future for many popular releases. Until the copyright laws change or Twitch figures something out, this is a great workaround that will surely increase the number of streamers that will play the game now.

Although this will take care of any DMCA strikes, it won’t filter out any nudity or violence. And yeah, there’s a lot of both.

It’s interesting just how much streaming is affecting games and even developers nowadays, including more mechanics. We’re excited to see some big streamers take up Cyberpunk 2077 and enjoy Night City like it was meant to be played.

If the quality of Cyberpunk 2077 is as good as the Witcher 3, we’re all in for a GoTY candidate.
