The Latest Gaming News And Stories
After a long long wait, Desert Treasure II is finally here! Desert Treasure I introduced us to Ancient Magicks and a whole new way to play the game. Desert Treasure II is introducing us to the Ring of Shadows, the best in slot rings for all three combat styles, Virtus Robes, the Soulreaper Axe, and Ancient Sceptre Upgrades. As you can tell it’s a huge update and there is plenty for us to go over!
First off we have the quest itself. Desert Treasure II is a long and well-made quest. The story and lore we are given are some of the best to ever be in OSRS and make for an enjoyable questing experience. Like we said before the quest is long so be prepared to spend a decent amount of time getting it done. Even with add-ons like Quest Helper.
The rewards for completing Desert Treasure II are pretty nice as to be expected. 5 Quest Points, The Ring of Shadows, 3 Ancient Lamps giving 100k xp in any combat skill including Prayer. The ability to use Ancient Rings and finally the ability to fight all four bosses you have already fought in the quest. While everything else is nice the real reward is the boss fights which open up all the things we listed before!
The Ring of Shadows is a solid offensive style ring similar to the Brimstone Ring. It also has the ability to teleport you to each of the four boss locations once you get the tablet drop. To use the teleports you will need to charge the ring with Soul, Blood, Death, and Law runes.
Next up we have the Ancient Rings! Essentially the upgraded version of the Daganoth Rings. All 4 of the Ancient Rings are best in slot for what they do and will obviously be very sought after.
Obviously, each ring piece will be dropped by a different boss. The Venator Ring comes from The Leviathan, Ultor from Vardorvis, Magus from Duke Sucellus, and finally Bellator from the Whisperer.
Virtus robes are a set of Magic equipment requiring level 80 in Magic and 75 Defence. The Robes give a % damage boost per piece and a boosted percentage if using Ancient Magicks. When not using Ancients it’s %1 per piece with Ancients it goes up to %4 per piece leading to a total of a %12 bonus magic damage.
The Virtus Robes are pretty comparable to the Ancestral Robes only really missing out on the Defence and prayer bonuses. The Robes do become best in slot when using Ancient Magicks due to the magic damage bonus. The Robes can be dropped by any of the 4 repeatable quest bosses.
The Soulreaper Axe is created by combining four untradeable components, obtained as drops from The Leviathan, The Whisperer, Vardorvis, and Duke Sucellus. The two-handed axe is a heavy hitter with the trade-off of the wearer risking their own HP. To wield the Soulreaper Axe you will need both 80 Attack and Strength.
The Soulreaper has a new mechanic called “Mighty stacks” essentially every time you attack with the axe you will be hit 8 damage stacking up to 5 times. With those stacks, you will get a +%6 boost to your Strength level. The trade-off between health and damage is a tricky one and should make PvP a bit more fun!
The Ancient Sceptre also gets handed some upgrades in 4 different quartz that can be added to the sceptre each giving a different boost. Each quartz is dropped by a different one of the 4 new bosses.
Desert Treasure II – The Fallen Empire already looks like an amazing update. So much added and some changes in meta that haven’t been touched since OSRS came out. We cant wait to fully get into all the bosses and get our hands on all these wonderful new items!
