Skydance New Media announced today that they will be collaborating with Lucasfilm Games to create a new Star Wars game! You might ask how can the news get any better? Well, how about we add that Amy Hennig will be at the wheel for said game.
For those of you who don’t know Amy Hennig is an amazing award-winning writer and director who has brought to life some classic games. Those games include Legacy of Kain, Jak and Daxter, and Uncharted.
“I’ve often described how seeing Star Wars in 1977 essentially rewired my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future indelibly,” said Hennig, President, Skydance New Media. “I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love.”
This is only the second significant project announced by the studio but will be sure to get a lot of people very excited. We all know Star Wars not only has a massive but also very passionate fan base. We sadly will likely have to wait quite some time to get a good idea of what the game will actually be, but you can be confident the game will have a narrative-driven interactive element to it as that is what the studio was made to make.
We can’t wait to see yet another new Star Wars game especially when it’s helmed by someone as capable as Amy Hennig! We are also getting a new game for Niantic Peridot!
