We are already here, Finals are in less than 24 hours! DAMWON Gaming and Suning look to fight it out to see who will be the World Champions! DAMWON Gaming unsurprisingly made it to the finals while Suning wasn’t really expected to be here at all. We are here to give you our prediction and break down what we think will happen during the League of Legends Worlds Finals!
Path to the Finals
DAMWON Gaming’s journey through Worlds has been a pretty easy one. They managed to win group B with only a single loss. After the group stage, DAMWON did anything but slow down as they crushed DRX (3-0) in the quarterfinals. A semifinals matchup with G2 brought hope for a great series. This sadly just wasn’t the case. While G2 did manage to pull out 1 win DAMWON finished off the series with the fastest game in Worlds history. Moving comfortably into finals with only 2 losses throughout all of Worlds so far.
Suning’s journey has been a little harder dropping 4 games so far. Even after winning Group A, they were still considered Underdogs in each knockout game they’ve played. Though they have been underdogs throughout Suning has shown continued growth and seems to just keep getting better. They first ran into JD Gaming in the semifinals handling them (3-1). Next was Top Esports a team Suning knows very well. Suning kept up their good performance and managed to (3-1) Top Esports as well.
How it will play out
While DAMWON Gaming has to be the heavy favorite leading into the 2020 League of Legends Worlds Finals we have learned you cant count Suning out. The series will likely be played around the top side. Strangely enough, the red side will likely be more wanted than the blue side simply for the counter picks. Generally, when looking at both teams it’s hard not to give DAMWON the edge over Suning. For Suning to complete their underdog story they will need someone on their team to truly have a carry performance. While they may make it seem like we are predicting DAMWON that’s where you would be wrong. As much as it may be a less likely outcome we think Suning will be able to have these carry performances and win (3-2) over DAMWON through Top counter picks and dominance.
To wrap it up we are very thankful Riot was able to keep the different leagues going and having a Worlds. We can’t wait to watch the finals here.
