Among other games, we were treated to a Splatoon 3 trailer during the Nintendo Direct event on February 17th. The game is set to release sometime in 2022 so while we will have to wait some time the excitement is already growing.

Splatoon 3 will be set in the Splatlands.

“A sun-scorched desert inhabited by battle-hardened Inklings and Octolings. Splatsville, the city of chaos, is the adrenaline-fueled heart of this dusty wasteland.”

While we don’t know too much about the game what we do know is that 4v4 Turf Wars are coming back. With Turf Wars coming back we will also have new stages, new moves to dodge and cover more ground, and finally new weapons. One of those weapons that has already been revealed is a bow shaped weapon that will be used to sling ink from afar. I for one am always down for more weapons as long as they are balanced with the rest of the game.

We will also have a greater ability to mess around with new styles for the Inklings and Octolings. The inhabitants of the Splatlands are said to be trendsetters so that should be another exciting thing in the game.

Sadly, that’s essentially all we know about the game thus far. We will patiently await more information and the eventual release of the game but were very glad to see the Splatoon 3 trailer as a whole. Are you excited for Splatoon 3? Another one of those games revealed during the Nintendo Direct event was Mario Golf Super Rush! We also won’t have to wait as long for that one. Another game while not connected to Nintendo but is taking the gaming world by storm is Valheim. A Viking survival/exploration game that we here at GameScoutr absolutely love.
