2023 is a huge year for Horror games so we want to bring you our Top 5 Horror Remakes 2023! Not only are we getting quite a few remakes that everyone should be excited about. We are also getting some very interesting-looking new horror games which you can check out on our Top 5 Upcoming Horror Games 2023.
4. Alone in the Dark
Alone in the Dark is a horror series that some of our younger horror game enthusiasts may not have played or heard of as it hasn’t seen any new games since 2015. The cult classic series is making a comeback this year much to the excitement of the fans of the series. The reimagining of the original game will take much of the same plot and gameplay, which means we will be exploring a haunted house full of plenty of supernatural scares! So while may not be as renowned as the other games on this list we are happy to have Alone in the Dark on our Top 4 Horror Remakes 2023!
3. Dead Space
With the Callisto Protocol not exactly getting the best reviews maybe the Dead Space remake can fulfill the needs that everyone wanted. Dead Space was the game that made body dismemberment a thing in video games. A truly beloved game and franchise will not only be coming back but we don’t have to wait long, the Dead Space remake is set to release on January 27th, 2023. The remake in itself seems to be very faithful to the original with the biggest changes being visuals and audio design. This might actually be a good move but either way, we can’t wait to play it!
2. Resident Evil 4
Next up we have one of the most iconic horror games from one of the most iconic horror franchises! Resident Evil 4 is following in the path of its predecessors from the previous years and is just another RE game to get a remake. With all the other games getting high praise from just about everyone it’s not hard to see why RE4 would also get a remake. The Resident Evil 4 remake is set to release on March 24th, 2023, and was always a shoo-in to make our Top 4 Horror Remakes 2023 list.
1. Silent Hill 2
So what could we possibly put as number 1 over RE4?! Well, it had to be Silent Hill 2 of course! Already on our Top 5 PS2 Games Of All Time list you know we love this game. This game brings back so many good memories for me as a gamer and was the first true horror game I ever played. The knowledge that the team behind the remake intends to keep the story intact but find new ways to get players immersed only makes me happier.
