In the midst of all the suffering and chaos created by Putin’s invasion of the peaceful country of Ukraine, game developers across the nation and world are uniting in their cause to help stop the pointless war
The creators of This War of Mine has decided to donate 100% of its profits earned over the next week directly to the Ukranian Red Cross. Hearing stories like this is one of the reasons we’re proud to be a part of such an amazing community.
Earlier this week, the creators of Stalker issued a statement attacking the “inhuman cruelty” of the Russian invasion. GSC Game World is calling for worldwite support as the country contines to struggle with the crisis.
Our country woke up with the sounds of explosions and weapons fire, but is ready to defend its freedom and independence, for it remains strong and ready for anything.”
As the invasion presses on, more and more game developers are uniting to support Ukraine. Frogwares, who’s based in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, tweeted “We can’t just stand by. Russia attacks our homeland and denies the sovereignty of Ukraine. We are trying to stay safe, but this is war, there are no two ways about it. We call on everyone to force Putin to withdraw froun our lands.”
Other developers are also calling for unionship. Ubisoft has one of its largest studios in Kyiv. They are doing what they can to keep their employees safe. We’re so glad to see Ukranian game studios speaking out about the war crimes of Putin.
This tragedy is an awful waste of human life and potential. We will do all we can to spread the message of hope for Ukraine and stand behind our brothers and sisters. Take care and good luck. We stand with Ukraine.
