As many already know Epic Games has a nice practice of giving free copies of games every week for any of its store users to claim. If you didn’t already know that welcome to free games and be sure to check out our Epic Games Free Game post that gives a quick rundown for the game each week.

Epic Games was nice enough to share with us some of the stats of their storefront. The ones I am most interested in are the number of free copies of games given away by Epic. In total 103 different games were free at one point during 2020. Those 103 games were claimed by over 749 million users, which is absolutely crazy and apparently had around a $2,400 in value.

Epic Games also did commit to keeping this practice going into 2021 and we can’t be happier. Other than giving away free games Epic also said they were working on adding some nice features to the store in 2021. Wishlist Improvements, Social Overhaul, Achievements, and Player Profiles were the features mention. All look like good steps but the one that stands out and excites me the most is Achievements. I feel that steam achievements are pretty important to me personally.

We are fans of the Epic Games store for at least keeping steam in check if nothing else. We are excited to see the store grow and get better and can’t wait to see what Epic brings in 2021.
