While the full details of the deal haven’t been released it seems that a number of owner-directors at NLG had decided it was a good time to sell their shares. Within a statement from Nintendo we learned ” The acquisition is expected to close on March 1, 2021, pending satisfaction of all relevant terms and conditions.”

Next Level Games is a Canadian company that was founded in 2002 and in 2014 announced they would solely be working with Nintendo. NLG seems to have had a pretty good relationship with Nintendo for some time and this just proves that. NLG also has done well with games like Luigi’s Mansion 3 which as of now has sold around 7.8 million copies world wide. We are excited to see what projects they have in store and know that they will have plenty of resources to get things done now.
