By no means is it a surprise but Epic Games has confirmed there with be no in-person Fortnite events 2021.
“Our intent is to eventually hold global in-person tournaments again, but our priority for any such event is the health and safety of our players and staff“
Overall this clearly seems like the right move. With the pandemic still going quite strong no one is quite sure when things will get back to normal. While no in-person events will be held that doesn’t mean the competitions won’t be there. Online competitions will continue to be put on by Epic throughout 2021.
FNCS is going to continue throughout 2021 with Trios being the standard party size going forward. Epic hopes to have FNCS be the best way to measure success in competitive Fortnite. Luckily Epic is also playing to host more weekly tournaments and Creator Cups throughout the year as well.
Like I said previously it’s no surprise this is the way they plan to go forward. Hopefully, in the near future, the pandemic will be more under control and the thought of in-person events won’t be so far-fetched. But as for now no Fortnite events 2021. Stay safe and do your best to keep your sanity.
