Yesterday during the Resident Evil showcase we were happy to get the Resident Evil Village release date. As an added bonus we were given information on a treat for the players due to it being Resident Evil’s 25th anniversary. That bonus was RE:Verse, a 6-player deathmatch game.
RE:Verse looks interesting enough and is a nice little bonus for fans of the franchise. While the game doesn’t really seem to be directly connected to Village in too many ways I would be surprised if some characters from the game will also be in RE:Verse. We do know the game is going to be filled with the beloved characters from the franchise and would fine it weird to not include at least some from the newest game.
Overall RE:Verse isn’t going to get people as excited as any full Resident Evil game I would assume but free content is always an addition no matter it may be. The game also should still be pretty fun as you get to play characters in ways you really haven’t before. There is also an interesting twist that will spice the game up. That twist: “When players are defeated in combat, their character respawns by mutating into a bioweapon to enact revenge on their foes.”
