According to IDC, more than 20 million VR headsets will be sold in 2023. With that being said we are more than excited to get our hands on our top 5 upcoming VR games 2023. With sales numbers just going up and up every year the future looks bright for VR games. We hope these 5 upcoming VR Games 2023 will just be another great stepping stone forward!
5. Ghostbusters: Rise Of The Ghost Lord
After a not-so-successful first try, Sony is taking another crack at Ghostbusters VR. Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord will be a fully new and independent game. Grab your P.K.E. meter and your proton pack and hunt down all the ghosts and other ethereal creatures you might find in San Francisco. Build your own headquarters and either head out alone or with friends in the co-op mode. We really do hope this game is a big step above the first Ghostbusters VR game we got as the source material is just so good. So we will keep this on our Top 5 Best Upcoming VR Games 2023 and keep our fingers crossed!
4. Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom
Go back to 1920s Birmingham and join the Peaky Blinders gang. The action-adventure game will have you completing missions and interacting with characters from the series, voiced by the original actors Cillian Murphy and Paul Anderson. Maze Theory is developing the game together with the production company for the TV series. In doing so they hope to keep the game as true to the story as possible, and might even introduce new characters.
3. The Dark Pictures: Switchback
Number three on our Top 5 Best Upcoming VR Games 2023 is The Dark Pictures: Switchback! Most horror fans will be at least aware of the Dark Pictures Anthology and that alone will be sure to have hopes high for this game. Players will face off against scary creatures and supernatural enemies on a haunted ghost train. The use of spatial audio on the PSVR 2 should just add even more to creepiness we are expecting. We can’t wait to get into The Dark Pictures: Switchback!
2. Resident Evil Village
Resident Evil Village VR might just be one of the biggest and best games for the Playstation VR 2. We already know the base game is amazing and its predecessor Resident Evil 7 proved just how good RE games can be in VR. The new free-hand movements and dual weapon fighting should just make the gameplay even better. We loved Resident Evil Village and can’t wait to get our hands on the VR version on February 22 for the Playstation VR 2.
If you’re the owner of either the Standard Edition or Gold Edition of the game will receive the VR mode as a free DLC.
1. Hellsweeper VR
With promises such as “bringing some of the craziest moves in VR,” we are extremely excited to see how Hellsweeper VR turns out! Those moves will include things like wall-running, power-sliding, backflips, bullet-time, and more. You will utilize these moves as you try to nimbly avoid waves of enemies going from all around you. You will also be able to utilize not only melee and range weapons but also elements involving magic! Hellsweeper VR will also offer single-player and co-op modes as well as a roguelike mode and a sandbox mode, although not many details are known about the latter yet. Hellsweeper VR sounds awesome so it had to be number one on our Top 5 Best Upcoming VR Games.
