5. Blade (2000)

A throwback and classic, Wesley Snipes’s role in Blade is one we all remember. With a run of movies and a couple of games, Blade had to make the list! While not perfect Blade is a fun beat ’em up type of game where you play as Blade and get to take out vampires in plenty of different areas. Whistler equips you with a small arsenal that obviously includes the signature sword. Overall, Blade is a fun little throwback game with a character that we all know and love!

4. Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry

Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry is just another good game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. The standalone version came out in 2014 but was originally a part of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. In Freedom Cry you play as Adewale, an ex-slave turned Assassin fighting for freedom with the help of his own Pirate crew. With all the fun joys of Assassin’s Creed gameplay, it’s no surprise Freedom Cry made our list of Top 5 Games With Black Lead Characters.

3. Deathloop

Deathloop is a first-person shooter that came out in late 2021 and very well may have been one of if not the best games of 2021 depending on who you ask. The game has two rival assassins that are trapped in a mysterious time loop with you playing as Colt. Your goal is to find a way to put an end to the time loop by trying new paths and approaches as Juilana tries to kill you the whole way. Deathloop is a great game and we highly recommend this game to everyone!

2. Dishonored: Death of the Outsider

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is a 2017 action-adventure game and happens to be the finale of the wonderful series that is Dishonored. In Death of the Outsider, you play as Billie Lurk a badass former assassin as she reunites with her mentor Daud in order to take down the mysterious entity known as the Outsider. The Dishonored series as a whole is great and something I would always recommend to everyone. On top of that Death of the Outsider is a great end to the series and does a good job of tieing up loose ends when it comes to the overarching story.

1. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Finally, we have Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales! As a big comic book fan, it gives me great pleasure to not only have 1 but 2 different games with black lead characters that also happen to be based on comic book characters. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales as a game does so many things right. Following up Marvel’s Spider-Man was no easy feat but the Miles Morales managed to refine many aspects of the original game. With a great story that doesn’t drag on for too long and amazing web-slinging gameplay, the was a no-brainer for our Top 5 Games With Black Lead Characters!
