Amazon Luna is the eCommerce giant’s new flagship cloud gaming service that’s taking the market by storm. Luna is now available on most Pixel, Samsung, and OnePlus phones.

Earlier this week Amazon announced Luna was coming to select Android smartphones. Similar to the iOS version of Luna, Android users just need to install a Chrome extension to get access.

Amazon originally launched Luna in October earlier this year for PC, Mac, and other platforms. Luna is different from other cloud streaming platforms because of the way it handles subscriptions. For instance, Google Stadia has a free version and a Pro version of its software with discounts and free titles available to play.

Luna will be using a channel-based system as its approach to subscriptions. As of right now, there will be a Luna Plus channel and a Ubisoft Plus channel. Luna Plus will be $5.99 a month while Ubisoft Plus will be $14.99 per month.

By the way, Ubisoft Plus offers Ubisoft Plus on PC and Google Stadia for free. This sweet software will give you access to new releases including the critically acclaimed Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs: Legion. As a modern marvel of technology, you won’t even need a beefy rig to play these titles on high settings if you’re using Google Stadia. Crazy, we know.

Amazon Luna is only available in the US for now. For those of you who want to jump in to the fun, you can request early access.

Amazon Luna is somewhat limited on the devices it supports as of now. In the future, Luna will support more Android devices. Here are some of the supported phones:

  • Pixel 4XL, 4A, 4A 5G, 5
  • Samsung Galaxy S10, S20, Note 10, Note 20 (and variations)
  • OnePlus 7, 8, Nord, 7T

Don’t forget you’ll also need to be running Android 9 or above and Chrome version 86 or newer. Amazon Luna will also feature a new purple-themed controller. Keep in mind you’ll be able to use the PS4 or Xbox One controllers as well.

We’re excited to see what Amazon Luna has in store for gamers and we’re keeping our eyes on cloud gaming as a whole and how the emerging technology will impact the future of gaming and entertainment.
