The PS5 launch seems like it’s going to happen a little differently than previous console launches. Due to the pandemic, Sony has officially declared that the PS5 will only be available by online delivery. Kind of a bummer, but at least we will still be able to buy the new console.
After reviewing the PS5 specs, I knew I wanted to get my hands on the new console ASAP. Sometimes, it’s worth sacrificing the hype of waiting in line for a new console to protect other people.
The price is locked in at $499 / £449 for the regular PS5 and $399 / £349 for the Digital Edition. We know it’s not the best time for everyone, but at least it’s cheaper than the PS4 release. The first wave of launches will be on November 12th. One of the first games I can’t wait to play on the PS5 will be AC Valhalla in all its glory.
If this news is getting you down, don’t let it. The PS5 and next-gen consoles are set to make history in unprecedented loading times, graphics, storage, and ease of use.
“Worlds will be richer and more beautiful, they’ll captivate your senses in ways you didn’t think possible, and you’ll be able to experience them much more seamlessly, with lightning-fast loading.”
Earlier this week, reports suggested the pandemic was causing headaches in Europe. Retailers were questioning how they would get the PS5 to everyone who ordered. Japan’s entire PS5 stock is gone and no further consoles will arrive in time for launch. We’re hoping things go smoothly over in the States.
