Top 5 Most Anticipated PS5 Exclusives

Now that the PS5 has been going strong for over a year and half, Sony has had some time to brew up some exciting new titles. Let’s dive into the top 5 most anticipated PS5 exclusives.

5. Stray

Release date: July 19, 2022

Why We’re Excited: Stray has the potential to shake up what we expect from RPGs. After all, you’re playing as the perspective of a stray cat. That’s quite a bit different from the heroic dragonslayers were used to.

4. Forspoken

Release date: October 11, 2022

Why we’re excited: Although Square Enix is hard at work at Final Fantsy titles, we’re super stoked they’re trying something new with Forspoken. Apparently, industry vets are taking the helm on this one.

Project Athia

Why we’re excited: From the makers of Final Fantasy XV comes a bold new action game “designed exclusively for the PS5.” The trailer looks stunning with a sprinkle of gameplay to tease us. The parkour-style gameplay and unique combat make my mouth water. And boy, does that dragon look fierce.

Something about these PS5 teaser trailers just hit differently. Maybe it’s the amazing textures and buttery-smooth framerates? Although we don’t know too much about Project Athia yet, the trailer shows me enough to start the hype train chugging along.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart

Why we’re excited: The original Ratchet and Clank remake was a fun and easy-going game that everyone loved. We’re certainly welcoming in a new successor with updated graphics and gameplay. It’s even going to make use of the new DualSense controller for more dynamic feedback. If you haven’t played the original Ratchet and Clank on the PS4, now would be a great time. Did anyone else think the game was actually harder than you expected? I know I did.

Horizon Forbidden West

Why we’re excited: Horizon: Zero Dawn is one of my absolute favorite PS4 games of all time. The combat, insane graphics, and cool story made for one hell of an adventure. Aloy’s back and sets her sights on the Americas. The “machines” are a part of what makes Horizon Forbidden West so awesome. That’s why we made a list of Horizon Forbidden West All New Machines. We will continue updating it as the list grows. There’s something truly special about fighting mech-dinosaurs with a bow and arrow.

There’s no way we could make a top 5 most anticipated PS5 exclusives list without mentioning Horizon Forbidden West. Guerilla Games really found a winning formula here in my opinion. I didn’t even know the graphics could get better, but Guerilla Games found a way.

Conclusion

The brand new PS5 will be a cornerstone of gaming and how far we’ve come. Some of the gameplay and trailers we’ve been seeing for these new titles are truly breathtaking. Sony and its partner developers are creating some sweet-looking new games that we’re dying to play. We can’t wait to get our hands on our top 5 most anticipated PS5 exclusives and put up some reviews! We’ll be updating this list as new titles come out and other ones get revealed.
